Finding a loving home for every pet is the ultimate goal of BISSELL Pet Foundation. As the nation’s largest funded adoption event, Empty the Shelters helps homeless pets find families by making adoption affordable for prospective pet owners. They do this by supporting participating organizations like Footbridge Foundation with reimbursement for each pet adopted. Adopters pay no more than $50! Established in 2016, Empty the Shelters has helped nearly 190,000 pets find their loving families at participating shelters in 49 states and Canada. Applies to adult cats and dogs only, does not apply to members of the Lonely Hearts Club. |
Itty bitty kitten Lucy was diagnosed with Calicivirus when she came into our care, a highly contagious virus that can cause a severe respiratory infection and oral disease in cats. She's now on the mend and settling in nicely in her forever home, but her medical bills remain our responsibility. In total she amassed about $2500 in treatment costs, and Footbridge would be grateful for any help in covering those unexpected expenses. It's always worth it to save a life, but we need your help to make it happen! |
Lonely Hearts Club: Available to Adopt! |
Our Lonely Hearts Club continues to make dreams come true! We're happy to report that LHC member Oreo was adopted recently and is in a loving home. Bear, Ember, Guillermo, Nini, Coach, Velvet, Moo and Pumpkin are still hoping to find their perfect families. Remember, their adoption fees are 100% covered by our wonderful LHC donors!
Lonely Hearts Club human members subscribe to a monthly donation to help us care for and cover the adoption fees for our harder to place animals until they find their forever families. We are SO grateful to our LHC members as we simply couldn't care for these animals on such a long term basis without their kind and generous donations. Thank you!
Become a Lonely Hearts Club member and you'll receive cool swag, along with the heartwarming feeling of knowing you helped wonderful animals find forever homes. Monthly donations start at just $10!

Local Students Volunteered to make supplies for our animals!
|
A special thank you to the students and families of Great Hearts Forest Heights who came together one Saturday morning last month to donate supplies and volunteer their time to make much-needed supplies for our animals! Kids and adults alike pitched in to make rice socks for spay/neuter surgery recoveries, dog toys from old t-shirts, kennel covers, blankets, decorate "Adopt Me" bandanas, and so much more! We love connecting with the community and raising future animal lovers!
If you are involved with a group or organization who may want to help in this way, please fill out our volunteer application here! We have all the instructions and the tasks range in difficult and cost of supplies. We would love the help and it's a wonderful lesson for our youth to practice giving back. |
