These Hearts are Lonely No More |
Few things in life are as satisfying as seeing our Lonely Hearts Club members get adopted. And recently, we had reason to celebrate three times!
Ozzy became a foster fail when his foster family adopted him. This absolutely THRILLED us as Ozzy is FIV+. Now, Ozzy has a family who loves him and understands the extra bit of attention his status requires.
Our darling mama Rose got adopted by a wonderful family of her own. Her adoptive family saw the same amazing traits we saw in Rose - she loves people and other dogs and cats.
After 210 days in our program, Gary the Great met his forever family, and now he's going to have a little corgi brother!
We owe all of this to our dedicated human Lonely Hearts Club members whose monthly recurring donations make these adoptions possible. Thank you, Lonely Hearts Club members! To learn how you can help our long-term fosters find forever homes, join our Lonely Hearts Club. It's the best feeling to help an animal find their forever family!

Help Chula and her friends this month! |
Chula, a tiny chihuahua, came to us after her owner passed away. She weighed only 4.44 pounds and in a few short weeks, she lost 9% of her body weight and she was in pain. Chula stopped eating on the day of the big freeze in San Antonio in February. North Star Animal Hospital provided emergency care for Chula during that icy weekend. Extensive testing showed that Chula has Lyme disease. With antibiotics and eye medications Chula started feeling better and she's slowly gaining weight. Chula's initial emergency vet bill was over $3,600 and she has since had another vet visit for a second round of antibiotics. Stay tuned for more on Chula's journey on our social media feeds.
Your donations to our March fundraiser will help us to pay for Chula's care and the care of other special needs animals in our program including: -
Luciano (aka Squirrel) who only has two paws and whose care is likely to include an amputation, a prosthetic, and the relocation of toe pad.
- Biscuit, whose mystery illness also began during that icy weekend, had extremely high liver values and needed emergency vet care and hospitalization as well as bloodwork and X-rays.
- Jax, who injured his leg, has had X-rays, is on crate rest pending more X-rays, and may need surgery.
-
Bristol, a puppy found on train tracks who suffers from sarcoptic mange which we are treating (but it's contagious to humans and other pets)
- Bradley who is heart worm positive and is receiving treatment.
Your donations allow us to help Chula and her friends who need specialized medical care beyond what most of our animals need. Will you help us reach our goal? Thank you so much for your continued support! |
