We are currently caring for multiple animals who are considered special-needs, as they came to us with medical conditions requiring additional care and support. Meet some of these sweet pets:
Simon was just a tiny, sick, weak little guy when he came into our care. He's currently undergoing treatment for an upper respiratory tract infection in our clinic and is slowly but surely regaining his health. This affectionate sweetheart will be available for adoption just as soon as he's all better.
Milan came into our care with a deadly virus called feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). While treatment is not easy to come by, thankfully we were able to secure the necessary daily injections for Milan to have a chance at survival. This beautiful girl is showing improvement and we're hopeful that she'll be cured and up for adoption soon.
Betty was pulled from the kill list at ACS, and was originally found extremely emaciated (she was skin and bones) and living in horrible conditions outside, forced to spend all day in dirty standing water. We're grateful that we were able to give this beautiful Boxer a second chance at life.
Champ has Digital Papillomavirus on his paws, which has required regular veterinary check-ins and treatments. Since this painful virus has the potential to become malignant if not treated, it's imperative that Champ continue to receive regular medical evaluations and potentially surgery if they don't resolve on their own. Once the papillomas are gone and he gets the green-light from our vets, Champ will be up for adoption!
Bruno was vomiting blood when her arrived at our clinic - we believe he ate some bad kitten food. Our veterinarian was able to stabilize him and now he’s back to normal and is ready to find a home. He’s very loving, we urge you to give him a chance!
Finn's journey began positively when he entered our care and found an adoptive home. Unfortunately, he was returned when his adopter found out they'd have to undergo major surgery. The stress of the situation led Finn to develop digestive issues, necessitating a special diet and continuous care. Now available for adoption, Finn is seeking a patient and understanding family capable of managing his tummy troubles.
Oscar came into our care when he was saved from being literally dumped - found left to die in a dumpster. The poor kitten was visibly traumatized from the ordeal and initially required a lot of patience to open up. He has become the sweetest kitty and is searching for his forever family.
Guillermo has feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). While cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives, they do tend to be more prone to illness than non-FIV cats, so it's important to keep regular vet visits and keep them up to date on their vaccinations. Unfortunately, because of misinformation, they generally take much longer to find a home than non-FIV cats. Guillermo wants you to know that just because he has FIV, he's no different than any other cat and he's perfectly fit to be the perfect feline companion. Guillermo is available for adoption.
Tater's journey began with a heartbreaking story as he arrived with severe trauma to his entire body, especially his head. Due to a significant injury, his right eye had to be removed. The veterinarian who examined Tater was deeply moved and ended up falling in love with him, ultimately deciding to adopt him! We are thrilled for Tater and his heartwarming happy ending.
Delie is heart worm positive but is undergoing treatments under our care and is on the path to recovery. She will be adopted out to her foster family (yay for a foster fail!) as soon as she finishes treatment.
