April Brings Kittens: Welcome to Kitten Season! |
Right now, we have nine bottle babies in our program! Our specialized bottle baby fosters are on the job, providing nearly round-the-clock care to these tiny, vulnerable kittens. We're so fortunate to have such amazing and dedicated fosters!
But, those aren't the only kittens in our program right now. We're right in the middle of kitten season, when animal rescues are inundated with moms and babies as well as bottle babies. We are working hard to keep up with the influx of kittens. In addition to our nine bottle babies, we have a mom, Silver, who's feeding six kittens; we have a mom, Meowsers, who's feeding five kittens; and we also have seven more kittens who were just weaned. That's a total of 27 kittens who will need forever homes very soon!

We are also accepting pre-adoption applications for many of our tiny kittens who are not quite ready to go home so they are not listed on our website yet. Lonely Hearts Club Updates |
Guess what? Lonely Hearts Club member, Cher, is a foster fail! She impressed her foster so much that he couldn't bear to part with her. They're a match made in heaven! And, it's all thanks to the wonderful human Lonely Hearts Club members who donate each month to help cover the cost of the adoption fees, and the care, for our long-term animals. We can't place these lovely animals without your help! This month, we've added beautiful grey and white Barnum to the Lonely Hearts Club! Barnum is a wonderfully well-behaved kitty! He loves to run around his foster's house and he enjoys playtime. He has a healthy appetite (LOL) and will cuddle right up next to you when he's ready to snuggle. He's a great communicator, with his gentle, little meow. He's also a petite kitty, weighing just eight pounds at 1.5 years old. Barnum is ready for adoption and his adoption fee is fully covered thanks to the Lonely Hearts Club! We're still on the lookout for a few great fosters! Do you have room in your life for some puppy or kitty love? We provide everything you need to care for these little guys: food, toys, leashes, harnesses, litter, scratching posts, whatever they need. You only need to provide them with a safe place to stay and some time and attention to help socialize them until they find their forever homes.

The Saga of Sweet Jake Gyllenpaw |
You may remember sweet Jake Gyllenpaw. He came to us with his brothers, Littlest Jake and Gary the Great, a few months ago with the help of our partners at The Cannoli Fund. After Littlest Jake was adopted, Gary and Jake both became members of our Lonely Hearts Club. Gary recently got adopted and not long after that, Jake started to get sick. Very sick. We learned Jake has FIP (Feline infectious peritonitis) which is almost always fatal. But, you know us...we never give up! Stay tuned for more on Jake's amazing story in May, how we're working to save his life, and how you can help (hint: it has to do with a cool T-shirt fundraiser to help this awesome cat!).
